08/03/2013  Kind of hard to think about lawn mowers with snow coming down, but I tinkered more with the GCV160, and got the rest of that Honda bond sealant off of the cylinder block and oil pan. One feature that is more annoying than anything on these engines is the fact that they used bolts to hold the carb, gaskets and air box to the engine.

14/03/2021  Need a new 21” mower and I like the Honda’s. The new high end residential units use the new GCV200 engines which are supposedly pretty powerful. The commercial units use the GXV160 engines. Seemed like when the residential units were using the 190s, power was pretty much the same between it and the commercial units. Now with the 200, not sure the commercial is the way to go?

19/05/2021  Here is a list of the torque ratings: GCV 145 6.7 ft lbs. GCV 170 8.2 ft lbs. GCV 200 9.3 ft lbs. Once source said the torque on the GCV 160 was 8.4 ft lbs, but at an extra 100 rpm, 2500 rpm vs 2400 rpm. I'm liking it. I would imagine they will flood the generic lawn mower market with the GCV 145, and the others will be up market.
